Second wine of Château Grand Puy Ducasse - Pauillac Appellation

Situation: three plots in the commune of Pauillac (the northern plot is close to Château Mouton Rothschild, Lafite and Pontet Canet, the central one is the area known as ‘Grand Puy’ and the southern one is located on the Saint Lambert plateau)

Soil: Garonne gravel and sandy-gravel

Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 40%

Average age of vines: 20 years old

Harvest and Vinification:
The grapes are picked up by hand to insure the quality of the harvest, and then are sorted by hand either with great care before being crushed and pressed. The wine-making process occurs in stainless steel vats with temperature control systems that ensure the ideal conditions throughout the fermentation. Grapes from individual plots are vinified separately.

Ageing: Aged in oak barrels for a 16 to 18 months period
